Silicone rubber properties:

The application range of Silicone rubber MVQ is determined by its wide temperature range: it demonstrates steady performance in both very low and very high temperatures (-55°С to +200 °С), but is not suitable for usage in hot water and/or steam. Its oil resistance is similar to that of NBR rubber, but its mechanical properties are considerably worse than those of NBR.

 

Advantages:

- excellent temperature resistance: -55°С to +200 °С 

- best heat resistance of all rubber types 

- best cold resistance of all rubber types

- excellent weather and ozone resistance 

 

Limitations:

- poor tensile and tear strength

- poor wear resistance 

- sensitivity to hydrolysis

- poor resistance aganst aromatic oils and oxidized mineral oils  

- poor diffusion resistance
