Hydraulic Rod Seal Kit IUY

The IUY rod seal kit consists of two products:

IUW / IUW2 NBR85 (WYS A9516 specification) seal.

BRDW Polyamide (Nylon) back-up ring

1. PA6 (Polyamide 6 / Nylon 6) This is the basic engineering plastic (Polyamide). It has high hardness, tensile strength and excellent fatigue resistance.
2. MoS₂ (Molybdenum Disulfide) – The "Black Component" This is the most interesting additive. Molybdenum Disulfide is a dry (solid) lubricant that is mixed directly into the plastic. What it does: When the excavator is running and the cylinder is moving under enormous pressure, MoS₂ dramatically reduces the coefficient of friction between the plastic and the steel rod.
3. Impact Modifier (Impact Modifier)Pure Polyamide 6 (PA6) is very hard, but under strong impacts or very low winter temperatures it can become brittle and crack. For this, the manufacturer adds a special chemical plasticizer (Impact Modifier) ​​that makes the plastic "tough". The result: Under strong hydraulic impacts (for example when the excavator digs into rock with the bucket or works with a hydraulic hammer), this material absorbs the energy of the impact and does not break/crack.
Advantages of the NBR85 + Nylon Support Ring (BRDW) design: This set combines the best of both worlds in hydraulics. The main cuff is made of highly elastic nitrile rubber (specification WYS A9516 - NBR85), which guarantees perfect sealing of the hydraulic oil, minimal friction and exceptional stability in winter conditions and low temperatures. To compensate for the softness of the rubber at high pressure, a 3 mm thick hard anti-extrusion ring made of Nylon (BRDW profile) is installed in the heel of the boot. It acts as a shield that prevents the rubber from deforming or jamming in the metal gaps of the cylinder during heavy hydraulic peaks.
